Sermon On The Mount

The following is consolidation of Charlotte Capitalist posts on Jesus Christ's Sermon On The Mount:

The Cult Of The Unearned
Everything in life, all values including the ultimate value of life, must be earned by someone. The Objectivist ethics acknowledge that your values must be earned by you and that you are the rightful recipient of your actions. Life, money, career, romance, friendship...everything must be earned either through you producing the value or through trading it with another who possesses the value you desire. To trade for a value you must have produced a value to exchange. SOTM destroys the idea of earning and trading values.

The United States Of America & The Sermon On The Mount Have Nothing Fundamental In Common
Conservatives regularly claim that the United States of America is based upon Christian values. But I never hear them identify those values. The best source of Christian values is the SOTM. If the conservatives took the time to read the SOTM and compare it to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, they would find nothing in common.
The Objectivist Ethics Versus The Sermon On The Mount contrasts the Objectivist virtues for living on earth with the ideas of Jesus' Sermon On The Mount.
